Murrah ibn Kab is a revered pre-Islamic progenitor figure in the genealogical chain (silsilah) of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He is the great-great-grandfather of the Prophet, forming a crucial link in the lineage: Prophet Muhammad ﷺ → Abdullah → Abdul-Muttalib → Hashim → Abd Manaf → Qusayy → Kilab → Murrah ibn Kab. Historical sources mention little about his life due to the pre-Islamic era (Age of Ignorance/Jahiliyyah), but he is consistently cited in all authentic Arab genealogical records as a chief of the Quraysh in Makkah.
