Son of Islams archenemy, Abu Jahl. A fierce opponent who fought against Muslims at Badr, Uhud, and the Trench. After his fathers death, he remained hostile until the Conquest of Mecca, after which he fled. He later returned, accepted Islam, and became a remarkably courageous and penitent Muslim, fighting zealously in the Ridda wars and the conquest of Syria. Martyred at the Battle of Yarmouk (634 CE).
