History / Notes
The son of the Ansari companions Zayd ibn Asim and Nusaybah bint Kaab (Umm Ammarah). He was captured and martyred by the false prophet Musaylimah in Yamamah before the Ridda Wars. Musaylimah cut him into pieces limb by limb for refusing to renounce Islam and testify to his false prophethood. His steadfastness is a legendary example of faith under torture.
